The Modelland Rally project news list

Modelland project is a website dedicated to modelists, slot car fans and all who enjoy model construction in some way. It is also a place where I can show my achievements, the progress of the project and also a place where I can recieve feedback from everyone, debate ideas and meet other slot fans. More recently it is also a website dedicated to selling models made by the Modelland Workshop Team.
I hope youŽll be able to find many ways to transform your slot track into a realistic scale landscape for authentic competitions. Sure I know my website is very far from being the solution of all your modelling problems, but in a way I do hope I can make my contribution.
The objective of this project is to create and build realistic buildings and landscapes (famous or not) with as much authenticity as possible. The techniques provided here are not fully conventional. The process of building making is entirely manual and original.

This website also offer information and tips on maintenance and setups for slot cars.
I'm not a very gifted webmaster (and teacher) so I appologise if you find the website a little incomplete with some missing informations.
From time to time thereŽll be new additions to my car collection with descriptions and short reviews on these new models.
I hope you enjoy and wish your feedback!
Thanks for looking!!

About the project: + Reasons for taking down the first track.
The phase one and reasons:
The project now consists of two installments. The first was the construction of the Modelland Rally racecourse (now named 'phase one') which suffered a sudden 'confiscation' due to a number of reasons. :-) In other words, the track had to be dismantled due to my health problems: allergy to dust and plaster and the worst; a pair of knees that don't bend comfortably. More; a dozen of inaccessible areas which turned the construction  of the track a real nightmare (literally)! If you take a look on the track pictures you'll see how large it was. It occupyed half of the space available in the room. Even having a large track it didnŽt mean I had enough space to fit my model buildings because there was actually too much track and too few empty spaces.
-Allergy: Since the room where the track was built is actually my bedroom, I started to suffer of a very hard allergy. It was caused by the large quantity of plaster and tile grout I used in the scenery. There was also a lot of dust from areas I could not reach to clean up. The track had also serious trail bad contacts due to heavy dust accumulation and also oxidation on these unreachable places. Cleaning the entire track was a tough thing!
-Inaccessibility: The problem of croutching under the track to getting to the outer areas also turned the build a very painful task.

Of course I removed all buildings and scenery carefully before I took down the track.

The Modelland website:
The Phase Two:
The new named 'phase two' is actually a second routed track that is being planned to occupy the place of the first track. It is a fresh track, carefully planned to combine accessibility, fun, nice build flow and more room to fit buildings and a certain village theme look. I plan to fill the village centre with at least 20 buildings designed to compose a rich arrangement of colours and forms. There will be shops, alleys, pubs, bistros, with gardens, a petrol station for refuelling the cars during a race and a forest park in the other end of the track.
The layout of the track will look an "L" shape with 180, 90 turns, some chicanes and crossovers. The phase two will also advance further on the scenery and will look more alive than the previous theme. You'll find many figures sitting on benches, having a cup of coffee at a bistro, waving from a balcony or simply hanging around the streets.
And the slot cars won't be the only vehicles to appear on the shots now. I hope to get vespa scooters, cyclists, static vehicles, a fire truck, police cars etc.
The general look of the models will also increase since now I learned how to paint with an airbrush!
I made a movie that creates some expectations around the phase two. Please check it out!
Well, it will be a long build but definitely a funny and pleasant one. I really hope you follow it. Any comments will be welcome!
