Why Barkshire? Reasons for this name:
Barkshire is the old name given to the county of Berkshire in England. Nowadays this name is shortened to only Berks. And it´s where I was born.

And why is it about England, why did you make this website?
England is where I was born. I don´t live in England anymore*, but I still care very much about this country (specially the county of Berkshire where I spent my childhood) and its people, its cities and landscapes. And I love to see modern rally cars running amongst old houses and villages! So, the intention in this project is to build not only the track and the racing features, but also to recreate kind of a typical 16th century european village in the 1:32nd scale. Scale building and slot cars are my favourite hobbies.
And the second (but not less important) purpose of this long job consists of teaching everyone interested in miniatures and hobbies to create their own buildings and circuits inspired on the place and the forms they like with as much authenticity as possible. And I like to share my techniques and see people working with them.

What did inspire me first?
Well, I think I had the first contact with models and slot cars when I was a child. But what first made me really want to build something is certainly the Beaconscot model village in Beaconsfield, England. That model village has simply transformed my life forever! :) I still have a dream about working on that village, planning and building miniatures. Who knows someday I will?

Viva Galiza!
I am musician and painter. I play the violin, baroque and renaissance recorders, bagpipes, crumhorn and other historical renaissance wind instruments.
A great lover of arts and history specialy from the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries.

Living today in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
You may have noticed my name Ceranto, (Cerante), sounds italian right?...And it is. Half of my family is from Italy and the other is from Galicia, Spain (Alonso family...yeah maybe Fernando Alonso is my relative :)
I cannot say I´m Brazilian but I cannot say I am entirely English ( maybe you noticed my english isn´t that sharp), well, I´d say I am the result of two distinct families. So if someone asks me where I am from, I say I´m half spanish and half italian, born in England, and living in Brazil. What a mess huh?
(In the picture I´m playing a Bass recorder and my friend Roger the rabec.)
(At right. It is a study 50x70cm oil on canvas based on a tea house in England.

Why do I take so much time updating my website?

Some people would consider Im not a very good webmaster and...they´re right to say that. :-)
Besides that, I´m too slow on model construction. It takes me a lot of time.
Specially because I don´t have much experience on this matter. I´m just beginning a long job.
